After previous unsuccessful Level-2 attempts with my scratch built AMRAAM I decided design a new rocket that will get me my L2. The rocket was designed to fly on HyperTek hybrids from the 300cc to 440cc tanks and solid rocket motors for I and J class motors with the 54mm motor mount. The fin can assembly was constructed using interlocking fin and centre ring construction for good strength and then mounted inside the airfame. Fin material is 6mm Birch wood ply mounted within a Quantum airframe lined with Phenolic tube to add strength in key areas. The payload bay is designed for twin altimeter (dual redundancy) with space for a radio tracker.
